Each letterbox-friendly parcel contains a carefully selected age-appropriate chapter book and bespoke activity pack that is sure to keep them hooked.

We will send out a welcome pack containing a welcome note, reading log, pencil and bookmark within 2 working days of receiving your order.

Your first letterbox-friendly subscription box will arrive midway through the month after you set up the subscription.

All our rolling subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each term, keeping your admin to a minimum and a steady flow of great books.

You can opt to stop the renewal at any time before the payment is taken via your account page or by emailing us.

UK standard shipping is included in the subscription price.

What's in each monthly book subscription box?

A chapter book

The books we choose for this age group are typically between 100 and 200 pages in length with plenty of illustrations.

Our Parakeets may be able to read these books by themselves, but we also believe that they are ideal for enjoying together.

8-page activity pack

Each book comes with an 8-page activity pack which we’ve created specifically to accompany it, plus stickers and a review card.

The pack includes book-club style questions, puzzles, facts, jokes, craft projects, a recipe and more, all inspired by the content of that month’s book.

For every box we ship to a subscriber we also make a donation of 50p to UK literacy charity Coram Beanstalk. We are proud to support the amazing work they do placing reading helpers in schools across the UK.

TWO CHILDREN OPTION

Buying for siblings?

Our 'Two children' option is only suitable when both children are in the same reading group.

Every parcel will be addressed to them both and they will receive two of everything except the book itself which can be shared.

If the siblings are in different reading groups they will each need a separate subscription so that they can receive books that are suitable for their reading and interest level.

For guidance, we say that our Parakeets are roughly 5 to 8, Cockatoos 8 to 12 and Macaws 12 to 14 years old.

The fact that the books are wrote by authors that aren't so well known is just pure genius as they are completely new. Very well presented upon delivery. Fantastic read

My daughter was so excited when her first book dropped through the letterbox.
She began looking through the book and reading it immediately.

I have a huge passion for books, and want to pass that to my daughter.
We read the book together each night, and the story itself has opened a world of imagination for her.
On a recent walk, she was so excited to find a pond and imagined it to be that of the one in the story and imagined what the characters would be doing.

We can’t wait for our second book to arrive!
