The World Book Day 2022 books and activities we’re getting excited about 

 

Are you looking forward to World Book Day 2022? It’s one of our favourite days of the year! And no surprise, since World Book Day is all about a love of books and shared reading. There’s nothing we like better than book-inspired activities that get kids and grown ups celebrating and talking about their favourite books. This year’s World Book Day takes place on Thursday 3^rd March and it’s an extra special one, too, as World Book Day is celebrating it’s 25^th birthday.

Every year World Book Day commissions a team of brilliant children’s authors to write a collection of exclusive books published especially to celebrate World Book Day. Each book in the collection costs just £1 – and if you have a World Book Day £1 book token, distributed via schools and nurseries across the UK, you can pick up a World Book Day book for free!

This year’s line up of authors includes some of our all-time favourites and we expect you’re going to have a tricky time choosing which of the brilliant World Book Day books for 2022 to take home with you. Never fear, we’re here to help…

If you loved Ada Twist, Scientist…

You won’t want to miss Rocket Rules!  Bestselling author-illustrator duo Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola have teamed up again to create a third brilliant picture book especially for World Book Day 2022. Inspired by their previous books Look Up! and Clean Up!, our hero Rocket is back again to explain her 10 Rocket Rules for living life to the full.

You won’t want to miss Peak Peril by Parrot Street favourite Sharna Jackson. We are huge fans of the High Rise Mystery books, a gripping murder mystery series for daring young readers, so we were thrilled to find out that Nik and Norva are back with a brand new mystery to investigate.

If you loved Charlie Changes into a Chicken…

 

Look out for The Wizard and Me by Simon Farnaby. We love the sound of Bubble the guinea pig, who has written a very special diary explaining just what happened when their owner’s life was turned upside down by wizard Merdyn the Wild. Time travel, magic, evil sorcerers – this book has it all!
