Why we support Coram Beanstalk with every book that we ship

We’re passionate about the transformative power of reading and believe that every child should be a reader. So we have been clear from the outset that ours should be a small business with a big social conscience. Before we’d even sent our first pack we were on the hunt for a charity partner that we could support and after some research Coram Beanstalk was an obvious choice.

Coram Beanstalk is a literacy charity that recruits, trains and supports volunteers to provide one-to-one literacy support in early years settings and primary schools to children who have fallen behind with their reading.

We wholeheartedly agree with the belief that underpins Coram Beanstalk’s work: “life is better when everyone can read well and express themselves confidently”. You may be interested to read more on the benefits of reading here and here.

How do we support them?

First and foremost, for every book that we ship to a subscriber we make a 50p donation to support this wonderful charity’s work. We are also active in helping them promote their work and recruit volunteers through our social media and other marketing activities.

Finally, we love getting involved with their fundraising initiatives. Last year we particularly enjoyed their #BeanstalkBeanieDay campaign!
